Greg Maddox is the head of Global Manager Research (GMR), a division of Wells Fargo Investment Institute. Wells Fargo Investment Institute, a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank N.A., is focused on delivering the highest quality investment expertise and advice to help investors manage risk and succeed financially.
Mr. Maddox leads the GMR team, which is comprised of highly experienced investment research professionals located around the globe who select and oversee the third-party money managers used throughout Wealth and Investment Management, a division of Wells Fargo comprised of Wells Fargo Private Bank, Wells Fargo Advisors, Wells Fargo Institutional Retirement, and Abbot Downing businesses. Mr. Maddox also chairs Wells Fargo’s Due Diligence Committee.
Mr. Maddox previously oversaw the management and delivery of Wells Fargo’s “Guided Portfolios,” a series of 28 taxable and tax-sensitive investment models used nationwide by Wells Fargo Private Bank. Over the course of his career, Mr. Maddox has helped create and distribute more than a dozen different mutual fund, variable annuity, and hedge fund complexes for banks, insurance companies, and independent investment advisors, and has served as the chief accounting officer, treasurer, vice president, and president of many of these funds.
Mr. Maddox holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Kent State University. He currently serves as the president of the board of the Hamilton Family Center, a homeless shelter serving families in San Francisco. He lives with his wife and their two children in Marin County, California, where they enjoy hiking and biking.
