Real Assets Spotlight: Commodities tactical outlook

  • We expect mixed performance from commodities in the near term as concerns of economic weakness grow and our energy outlook softens. Looking into 2026, we expect a modest rebound in performance, in line with the economic recovery that we anticipate.
  • Despite our neutral rating on Commodities, we see strengths in our favorably rated sectors — Precious Metals and Industrial Metals.

Equities: Health Care remains tough for investors, but growth still works

  • Through eight months of 2025, things have looked all too familiar for Health Care stocks as the sector limps towards a third-consecutive year of underperformance.
  • Valuations are historically attractive, yet multiple challenges remain for Health Care equities. We believe the market remains growth focused with the most attractive growth stories, from health care companies, continuing to be the best performing equities in the sector.

Fixed Income: A subdued Preferred Stock issuance picture

  • Preferred Stock issuance has not kept pace with redemptions since the Federal Reserve (Fed) began its rate-hiking cycle.
  • We believe compressed yields and spreads in the Preferred Stock sector provide an opportunity for investors to reposition into U.S. Intermediate Term Taxable Fixed Income.

Alternatives: Potential benefits of private market diversification

  • In our view, diversifying across private-market strategies can potentially help lessen the impact of a poor performing strategy and improve overall risk-adjusted returns.
  • We continue to maintain our favorable guidance in Growth Equity and Buyout sub-strategies and remain constructive on Private Infrastructure asset classes and Secondaries sub-strategies as we expect several headwinds to continue to recede.
